Antonina Shevchenko

Antonina Shevchenko is a Kyrgyzstani Muay-Thai MMA fighter from Peru and a mixed martial artist who is fighting for in the UFC for the Flyweight Division is currently an Kyrgyzstani. She is also the elder sister of an earlier UFC Flyweight champ as well as fellow UFC athlete Valentina. Antonina Shevchenko started her professional career as a Muay Thai kickboxer. Her debut was in 2003 during the IFMA World Championship Tournament. Shevchenko won the competition and defeated Suzane Milliner in a unanimous vote. Antonina was awarded the Silver Medal in 2007, a Bronze Medal in 2008, a Gold Medal in 2011 and the IFMA Amateure Muay Thai World Champion. Antonia's professional journey began in 2003. She won in 2012 the WKC K-1 Light Welterweight World Championship In 2016, she won the Lion Fight Lightweight Championship and in 2016, the WMC World Championships. Antonina was last seen fighting Isa Tidblad Keskikangas during the Phoenix Fighting Championship. The fight was won by a unanimous vote. Antonina Schevchenko kicked off career-long MMA career in 2002 after a win over Anara Baanova, during the KFK Championships of Kyrgystan. She won this fight by TKO at the end of round 2 and the following two matches were staged during the WXF X-Impact World Championships. Shevchenko took a short break from MMA and devoted her time to kickboxing. Shevchenko made her comeback in 2017 against Anissa Diddaoui. Shevchenko beat Anissa by unanimous decision before she fought Valerie Domergue in Phoenix FC 4. The league was dissolved in 2018, Shevchenko joined Dana White's Contender Series. Shevchenko faced Jaimelene Nievera in Dana White's Tuesday Night Contender Series 11, Antonina used her superior strike skills to TKO Nievera in the clinch via knees to the body. Following this victory Antonina was offered a UFC contract. Antonina received the UFC contract following her victory. Shevchenko was defeated by Roxanne modafferi in a split decision following her first fight. Antonina was able to bounce back from her loss by prevailing Lucie Prudilova in UFC on ESPN Covingtonvs. Lawler by submitting a back naked choke submission. It was the best fight of the night for that bout. Shevchenko was a 1-2 winner during her subsequent three bouts, defeating Ariane Lipski and losing to Katlyn Chookagian as well as Andrea Lee. Antonina suffered a loss to Casey O'Neill by second-round TKO in the second round of UFC Fight Night Santos Walker.
