Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn (born Jeanne Marie Tripplehorn) is an American actor working in both film, television and the theater. She's been an professional actor for 27 years. She made her acting debut on stage in an off-Broadway production The Big Funk by John Patrick Shanley in 1990. The Perfect Tribute was her first TV appearance one year later. In 1992, she received her first big break when she was cast in Basic Instinct as a secondary character. It was in The Firm however that she was chosen as the female lead for the first time and that too opposite famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Through the 1990s she collaborated with some of the top stars in the industry including Gwyneth Paltrow as Sliding Doors, Hugh Grant in Mickey Blue Eyes and Julie Andrews in Relative Values.
